7 more die, 515 cases detected

The coronavirus recovery rate has stood at 91.12 percent in the country while the new infection rate remains around 3 percent.

Seven more coronavirus infected patients died and 515 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning. The death toll rose to 8,423.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 515 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 5,47,316.

Some 894 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,98,691 in the country till the day.

The DGHS data said the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.54 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate has reached 91.12 percent, it added.

The health directorate said 13.44 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 3.36 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 15,523 samples, out of 15,325 collected, were tested at 216 labs in the country during the period, the report added.

A total of 40,72,922 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 last year while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
