Dhaka University (DU) has expelled seven of its students for their involvement in digital fraud and adopting unfair means during admission tests and five of its affiliated colleges for breaching discipline, said a DU press release on Monday.
Besides, 151 students of the university and its affiliated colleges have been suspended for different terms on charges of using illegal means in academic exams.The decision to take administrative action against the students was taken at a syndicate meeting held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus on Sunday. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the meeting.
Expelled seven students enrolled in different academic sessions from 2013-14 to 2016-17.
Earlier on February 11, the Disciplinary Board of the university recommended expelling and suspending the students.
