Tk 20 cr budget for Bangabandhu Games

Bangladesh Olympic Association got a budget of Tk 20 crore for arranging the 9th Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games 2020 on Sunday.

The budget was granted in a virtual meeting of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games organising committee, chaired by its chairman and Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, MP.

The committee also decided to exempt tax on imported equipment regarding Games, to make the opening and closing functions attractive, lively, superior, and exquisite and to hold two out of 31 disciplines in Cumilla and Gazipur. 

State minister for youth and sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, BOA president and Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and other members and officials were present in the meeting.

The 9th edition of the country’s biggest multi-sports event Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games, named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will be held from April 1 to 10 this year at the divisional cities including Dhaka.
