A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Saturday that they will host an Under-19 triangular series involving India and Afghanistan in November.
Bangladesh Under-19 cricketers started their training camp ahead of their series against Afghanistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.A BCB official said that the camp is taking place to prepare the players ahead of a bilateral series against Afghanistan in India.
“We have started the training camp as a preparation for the series against Afghanistan, which will take place in Greater Noida, India which is the home of Afghanistan cricket team. All the coaching staff members are present in the camp,” BCB game development manager AEM Kawser told reporters on Saturday.
Earlier, there was a plan to include India in the one-day series to make it a triangular tournament but Kawser said that the tri-series will happen later this year in Bangladesh.
“We will play the tri-nation series at home in November when India will come,” he added.
The camp for the bilateral series against Afghanistan began with 22 young cricketers and out of them 15-16 will be finally selected for the series in Noida.
The young cricketers will leave for India on March 10 while the junior Tigers will play one four-day match and five 50-over matches in the tour.
