Japanese speech contest held in city

The ‘12th Japanese Speech Contest in Bangladesh’ was held in the city on Saturday.

Top 10 Japanese language learners out of 21 contestants impressed the audience with their unique topics, rich contents and fluency in the final round of the contest.

This year’s speech contest was co-organised by the Embassy of Japan, the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh and Japan Foundation. 

Among the 10 final contestants, Md Tarek Rahman given speech on ‘Friendship between Japan and Bangladesh” and got the biggest applause from the four Japanese judges and won the first prize in advanced category while Mikasa Sanjana delivered a splendid speech on ‘Japanese Animation’ and won the first position in the beginner’s category.

This year’s contest was sponsored by Kaicom Solutions Japan, Saito Nenshi Bangladesh Ltd, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, Sumitomo Corporation Asia and Oceania Pte Ltd, Nagasaki Restaurant, Nippon Koei Co, Ltd, Mizuoh, YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd, as well as the Japan Commerce and Industry Association in Dhaka.
