A man allegedly grabbed the house of two sisters, one of whom is differently abled, at Jinjira in Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital.

Mohammad Rubel, who is one of their relatives, illegally took control of the house on two decimals of land owned by the siblings -- Samira Sadek and Sarwar Hossain Bushra -- about four months ago.

Sabina Yasmeen, mother of the girls, briefed this to journalists at Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) office at Segunbagicha in the capital on Thursday.

She said that her husband Sadek Hossain is an expatriate living in Kuwait. The mother along with their two daughters live in a rented house in the capital’s Purana Paltan as their differently abled daughter Bushra attends a school there.

Sometimes, they visited their house in Keraniganj, she said. “About four months ago, Rubel grabbed the house in our absence. When we went to our house, Rubel as well as his accomplices kicked us out,” she said.

“We filed a general diary at Keraniganj Model Police Station in this regard on January 24,” she said.

“Now, I request the Home Minister to help us return our house to us,” she said.

When contacted, Rubel’s wife received the call, but did not make any comments.
