BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and his wife and Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas received their first doses of Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday.

They got vaccinated against the deadly pathogen at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the afternoon, BNP sources said.

Earlier on February 8, BNP Joint Secretary General Mahbub Uddin Khokon received the vaccine at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

BNP leaders have frequently been criticising the government’s ongoing countrywide national vaccination programme and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine (Covishield) which has been imported from India and is being used for the mass vaccination.
