Nuruzzaman for timely ADP execution

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Wednesday directed the concerned officials to complete the projects of the Annual Development Programme within the stipulated time.

“You must remain alert so that development projects cannot be hindered,” said the minister while virtually addressing a meeting of ADP implementation of 2020-2 fiscal year.

The minister asked them not to show any excuse in the name of coronavirus pandemic.

According to the officials, ADP implementation of most of the ministry experience slow pace due to the coronavirus pandemic during the first six month of the present fiscal year as the country started vaccination drive.

In the current fiscal year, the government has widened social safetynet programme, increasing allocation to Tk 955.74 billion, around 28.51 more than the previous fiscal year, to  fight poverty and corona pandemic related issues.

Emphasizing on timely implementation of ADP projects, Minister further said that the officials related to projects have to prepare plan for achieving goals maintaining transparency in financial deals in case of joint venture.

Earlier the ministry completed ADP of the FY 19-20 with 80 percent implementation rate against allocation of Tk 1.94 billion. During the fiscal year, the progress of financial transaction was 77.02 percent.

State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru and Secretary Mahfuza Akhter were also joined the meeting.
