Mental health centre for Rohingyas launched

A mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS) centre for Rohingyas was launched at Kutupalong in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday.

Syed Mahbubul Haque, assistant secretary of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and in charge of camp No. 6, inaugurated the centre.

On an average, 60 Rohingyas will receive services at the centre from 8:30am to 3:00pm every day.

BRAC, one of the largest NGOs in the world, has constructed the centre supported by UNHCR, said a press release.     

Hasina Akhter Huq, area director of Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP) of BRAC, among others were present at the event.
