‘Jatiya Pitha Utsab 2021’ begins on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital today.
Pitha Utsab Udjapan Parishad, in association with the BSA, has organised the ten-day pitha (cake) festival to give the urban people a taste of winter delicacies.BSA Director General and convener of the Pitha Utsab Udjapan Parishad Liaquat Ali Lucky and Pitha Utsab Udjapan Parishad President M Hamid spoke about the details of the festival at a press conference held at the seminar room of National Theatre Hall of BSA on Monday.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid will inaugurate the festival as the chief guest. Pitha Utsab Udjapan Parishad president M Hamid and general secretary Khandakar Shah Alam, among others will attend the inaugural ceremony with BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.
The festival will feature over 150 types of pithas from different parts of the country. The pithas include Bhapa, Kuli, Rosh Phul, Khejur Finni, Bhajapuri, Malpoya, Malai, Kola Pitha, Pati Sapta, Rosh Golap, Nakshi Pitha, Pantua, Ilish Pitha, Jhinuk Pitha, Puli Pitha, Dudh Chitai, Mug Pakon and Hriday Haran.
The Pitha Utsab will continue till March 4 from 03:00pm to 09:00pm.
