Trade bodies pay tribute to language heroes

Leaders of different business bodies, including the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (Barvida), have paid homage to the martyrs of the Language Movement.

On behalf of the country’s apex trade body, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim along with the executive body members paid the homage to the martyrs on early hours of Sunday.

FBCCI vice-president Md Nizam Uddin Rajesh, directors Sujib Ranjan Dash and Munir Hossain, among others, were also present.

Barvida, a platform of car businesses, also paid tribute to the martyrs of 1952 Language Movement on zero hour of the International Mother Language Day.

Barvida organising secretary Khandaker Abdul Mumin (Pappu), cultural secretary Benazir Ahmed and executive committee member Syed Jaglul Hossain jointly placed the wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar.
