The government has introduced new pricing system for leasing out government haat-bazaars across the country.

Local Government Division issued a circular on Saturday, mentioning the new pricing system of the leasing out process.

Earlier, with the average lease price of the last three years, the government price of the haat-bazaar had been fixed at an additional 25 percent for municipal areas and an additional 10 percent for the areas outside the municipalities. Now the price will be set at an additional six percent with the average of the last three years’ lease price.

The circular titled ‘Re-determination of Government Price for Lease of Government Haat-Bazaars’ stated that the average of lease price for the last three years was fixed as the government price in accordance with the Policy on Management of Government Haat-Bazaar, Lease Procedure and Distribution of Income -2011.

According to a circular issued by the Local Government Division on March 1 in 2016, the government price of the haat-bazaar had been fixed by increasing the lease price at an average of 25 percent for municipal areas and 10 percent for outside areas.

In this context, it was requested to take necessary steps to fix the government price of the haat-bazaar by increasing the lease price by an additional six per cent from the average of the last three years, said the circular.
