Police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a  middle-aged man in the capital.

A team of Mirpur Detective Division nabbed the three -- Abdul Baker Khan, Abdur Rob and Abul Hashem -- from the capital and its adjoining areas on Friday night.

AKM Hafiz Akhter, additional commissioner (detective) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, disclosed the information at a press conference at DMP Media Centre on Saturday.

On February 17, police recovered the body of Akhter Hossain, 45, from his residence in Gabtali. His hands and legs were tied with rope.

Later, a case was filed at Darussalam Police Station.

The police officer said that the victim and the trio knew each other, as they lived in the same area.

About a month ago, Baker stole Tk 20,000 from the room of Akhter.

After stealing the money, Baker and others thought that the victim had much more money.

At one point, they planned to kill him and make off with cash and valuables he had.
