A solo painting exhibition titled ‘Random Vignettes’ by poet and painter Shamset Tabrejee is underway at Dwip Gallery in the capital.

The show began on February 12 followed by the inauguration ceremony. Dhaka University Faculty of Fine Arts Dean Nisar Hossain, poet Sajjad Sharif and artist Wakilur Rahman were present at the opening event as guests.

Artist, writer and art critic Mustafa Zaman is the curator of the exhibition.

The 15-day exhibition features 57 paintings of Tabrejee which made during the pandemic period. The exhibition bears the impression of the artist’s passion for colour.

Shamset Tabrejee is a poet and painter of the country. Essence of time, history and reality are the subject of his poetry and paintings. The dynamic forms of expression, derived from language as well as visuals, are the artist's way of expressing the chaos and indiscipline that exists in our world.

The exhibition will remain open till February 26 from 03:00pm-09:00pm everyday including weekends except Mondays.
