Jobe saves Jamal with late strikes

Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe scored a brace late in the game that helped Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited earn a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Uttar Baridhara Club in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.

Jobe netted twice in the 73rd and 90th minute respectively while forward Nurul Absar scored one in the ninth minute for Sheikh Jamal.

Three local players -- forward Sujon Biswas, forward Sumon Reza and midfielder Papon Singh scored one each in the 28th, 45th and 70th minute respectively for Uttar Baridhara that took them close to get all three points from the match.

However, Jobe’s two late strikes made them content with one point from the game.

In the day’s other match, Dhaka Abahani Limited beat Saif Sporting Club by 2-0 at the same venue.

After a barren first half, Brazilian midfielder Raphael Augusto Santos da Silva and Haitian forward Kervens Fils Belfort scored one each in the 53rd and 65th minute respectively.
