Bangladesh envoy presents credentials to Oman Sultan

Mizanur Rahman, newly appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sultanate of Oman, presented the letter of credence to Sultan of Oman Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at his Qasr al Barka palace in Muscat on Monday.

The head of royal protocol of Oman received the ambassador at his arrival to the palace and was escorted to the guard of honor point. The event started with the tune of the national anthems of Bangladesh and Oman played by the band of the royal force followed by guard of honor.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq received the letter of credence and welcomed the Bangladesh ambassador, said the Foreign Ministry.

At the outset, the Bangladesh envoy expressed his heartfelt thanks to Sultan for receiving him and conveyed the greetings of President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Mentioning Oman as one of the first countries in the GCC who recognised Bangladesh after its independence, the ambassador expressed deep gratitude and thanks to Sultan of Oman for his government’s kind support and care for the Bangladeshi expatriate living in Oman during the pandemic Covid-19.

He further mentioned Bangladesh government’s appreciation for Oman’s support to Bangladesh at the international fora on the rohingya issue and sought Oman’s continued cooperation in this regard.
