Nat’l Women’s Handball begins today

The EXIM Bank 31st National Women’s Handball Competition begins today at the Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Stadium in Narail.

Bangladesh Handball Federation is organising the meet in association with Narail District Sports Association.

A total of 12 twelve teams are taking part in the competition this year, which will be held to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Teams are Ansar and VDP, Jamalpur, Naogaon, Faridpur, Madaripur, Dinajpur, Police Handball Club, Rangamati, Gopalganj, Panchagarh, Dhaka and hosts Narail.

Narail face Panchagarh in the opening match.

Narail-2 MP and former Bangladesh cricket team captain Mashrafe Mortaza will inaugurate the meet as the chief guest while Narail Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Narail district Awami League president Advocate Suvash Chandra Bosh, BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and EXIM bank Ltd director Lt Col (retd) Serajul Islam will be the special guests on the occasion.

Narail Deputy Commissioner and DSA President Habibur Rahman will preside over the whole inaugural function.
