Monowara Habib becomes country’s first woman CGDF

Monowara Habib has been appointed as the first woman Controller General Defence Finance (CGDF) of Bangladesh.

She takes the charge of office on February 9, said an ISPR press release on Sunday. Monowara Habib is a 1986 batch officer of BCS (Audit and Accounts) cadre. She obtained her BA (Hon’s) and MA (Masters) degrees in English Literature from Dhaka University.

Her colourful career in the audit and accounts department, Monowara Habib held various important posts in Civil, Railway and Defense divisions. Prior to joining the CGDF, she served as DCAG (Senior) in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh.

She has long experience working in various fields including experience in Public Sector Financial Management.  She traveled to different parts of the world for training, seminars and other government responsibilities. In personal life, she is married and the mother of three children.
