Mayor Quader Mirza’s motorcade ‘attacked ‘in Feni

FENI: The motorcade of Noakhali’s Basurhat municipality mayor Abdul Quader Mirza allegedly came under attack in Zero Point area of Dagonbhuiyan upazila in the district on Thursday.

Some miscreants launched the attack at 6:30 am when the newly elected mayor was going to Chattogram to swear in as mayor, alleged Quader Mirza, reports UNB.

He said brick chips and eggs were thrown at his motorcade. Basurhat Ward No 1 AL president Selim, 50, was reportedly injured in the attack.

Mirza Quader, also brother of Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, in a facebook live blamed Feni MP Nizam Hazari and Noakhali MP Ekram Chowdhury for the attack.

He requested Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take proper action against the attackers.

Dagonbhuiyan thana officer-in-charge Imtiaz Ahmed said they have received a verbal complaint in this regard.
