Dhaka calls for enhanced int’l cooperation

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said the climate change, labour, human rights and public health are all intertwined.

“A secure and sustainable world could be built through proper implementation of the Paris Agreement and strengthening of international cooperation in the areas of climate finance, mitigation and adaptation,” he said on Tuesday in a virtual event on “Climate Change Priorities on Health, Human Rights and Labour”.

The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in Geneva under the auspices of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF).

Mentionable, after having successfully led the CVF from 2011-13, Bangladesh has assumed the Presidency of the Forum again for the term 2020-22.

In his opening remarks, the Foreign Minister further highlighted the steps taken by the Government of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to combat climate change.
