Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will stage demonstration tomorrow across the country, protesting against the punishment of some of the party leaders, including acting chairman Tarique Rahman, in separate cases.
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan made the announcement at a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Tuesday.The decision was taken from a meeting of the party standing committee held on February 6, he said in the press briefing.
Nazrul Islam Khan said the party will stage demonstration in metropolitan cities and district head quarters across the country on February 11 in protest against punishment of Tarique Rahman, Habibul Islam Habib and Salahuddin Ahmed in separate cases.
Besides, he also said the party also has taken decision to hold a press conference about recent report of Aljazeera television about a sensitive issue of the country.
“BNP earlier demanded clear and acceptable explanation from the government about the AlJazeera report but the government didn’t inform it yet,” he said.
