MIST wins global medical robotics competition

A team of students from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has been awarded 5,000 GBP as championship prize money under the application category of the global “Medical Robotics for Contagious Diseases Challenge 2020”.

Team MIST won the award for developing a UVC disinfection robot named "UVC Purge V.2." This multi-round qualifying and highly competitive event was organised by Imperial College of London and sponsored by UK Robotics and Autonomous System (UK-RAS) Network.

Other two winners in competition are: Johns Hopkins University, USA under the ‘Innovation’ category and Leeds University, UK under the ‘Design’ category.

The online award ceremony was held on February 4.
