Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd has signed an agreement with state-run Padma Oil Company Ltd (POCL) to set up an autogas station and supply autogas to the registered POCL filling stations.
Under the agreement, both parties will work together to supply internationally recognised and safer autogas in Bangla-desh as opposed to conventional fuel.Managing Director of POCL Md Masudur Rahman and Bashundhara LP Gas Head of Sales Jakaria Jalal signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides on Sunday at POCL office in the capital, said a press release.
"We are happy to sign an agreement with POCL," Jakaria Jalal said, adding, "Through this agreement, Bashundhara LP Gas will be able to ensure rapid access to environmentally-friendly fuel for use in vehicles across the country."
He also highlighted the current LPG import, storage, cylinder manufacturing and supply capacity of Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd.
"Bashundhara will maintain its excellence in the autogas sector as well as in the way it has been working in product diversification and marketing," he said.
Autogas is already popular and acclaimed around the world as an environmentally friendly fuel.
Bashundhara LP Gas has been working with the LPG sector in the country since 1999. So far, agreements have been signed with 200 stations and another 200 companies are under process.As a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), POCL distributes various types of petroleum products – lubricants, bitumen and LPG. At present, the company has 697 filling stations across the country.
POCL General Manager Numan Ahmed Taffader, General Manager (Marketing) Sohel Abdullah, Deputy Manager, Personal Secretary to BPC Chairman Md Ahammadullah, Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd Assistant General Manager, Sales Ataur Rahman, Media and Public Relations Manager Kazi Rokon Uddin and Executive Engineer, Enamul Haque , among others, were also present on the occasion.
