CHATTOGRAM: A workshop on the “Future of Business Leadership at Chattogram” was held in the port city.
Citibank NA supported the programme in cooperation with the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University and Bangladesh Center of Excellence (BCE) at the World Trade Centre in the city.The workshop aimed at preparing the next generation business leaders of Chattogram with proper knowledge for sustainable development in the changed global context.
A two-day workshop titled ‘Visionary Leadership for Growth, Strategy & Governance’ hosted by the IBA was started on Friday under the programme.
A total of 17 renowned business leaders of Chattogram from 14 different export-oriented, local and public limited companies of real estate, construction materials, readymade garments and pharmaceuticals took part in the workshop.
The Prime Minister’s Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman joined the closing ceremony of the workshop virtually as the chief guest.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam, Citi Bank NA Country Officer and Managing Director N Rajashekaran were present as guests.
IBA Director Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar was the chief coordinator of the workshop while Square Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Tapan Chowdhury addressed on ‘General Transition of Leadership’ and Dr Hillol Bala of Indiana University of USA on “Disruptive Technology & Digitalization” during the workshop.The adviser Salman F Rahman in his speech said that Bangladeshis are basically entrepreneurs and the government works for taking the economy and the country forward keeping consistency with the fourth and fifth industrial revolution.
Citi Bangladesh Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Shams Zaman, CCCI Directors SM Abu Tayyab, Md Shahriar Jahan, Salman Habib, Base Textile Vice Chairman Monwar Shahadat, CPDL Managing Director Iftekhar Hossain, Confidence Cement Managing Director Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Lub-rref Bangladesh Director Salauddin Yusuf and S Alam Group Director Meheruba Mahbub attended the programme among others.
