3 Indians held for ‘gambling’ on cricket

CHATTOGRAM: Three Indian nationals were arrested for their alleged involvement in international gambling on cricket from the city’s Jahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium area on Saturday.

They were nabbed during a test match between Bangladesh and visiting West Indies in the stadium. The arrestees were Sunil Kumar, 38, Chatan Sharma, 33, and Sani Magu, 32.

Members of a national intelligence agency caught them and handed over to the police later.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Imam of Pahartali Police Station said the trio was arrested for their alleged involvement in gambling.
