Prof Kamrul passes away

CHATTOGRAM: Former Acting Registrar of Chittagong University (CU) Professor Dr Kamrul Huda, who sustained serious injuries in a road accident, died in hospital in the capital Friday night. He was 51.

He was undergoing treatment in Bangladesh Spine and Orthopaedic Hospital in Kalyanpur.

The botany professor left his wife, a son and a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. He suffered fatal injuries in the road accident on January 27 and was admitted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital. Later, he was referred to Dhaka for better treatment.

Kamrul was buried at his family graveyard at his village home in Katirhat under Hathazari upazila of the district after namaz-e-janazas.

CU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhter expressed profound shock at his death.

She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended sympathy to the bereaved family members.
