The Covid-19 vaccination programme for Dhaka University (DU) teachers will officially begin today at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

A total of 20 teachers who are above 55 will be vaccinated today. They include DU VC, Pro-VCs and Emeritus Professors. The rest of the teachers will come under the vaccination programme gradually.

Prof Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan, General Secretary of DU Teachers' Association (DUTA), confirmed this matter to this correspondent on Saturday.

Prof Nizam, who is in charge of overseeing the programme, said it will start at around 9:00am. To get vaccines, teachers of the university will have to register on DU website.

When asked, Prof Nizam could not say exactly when the other teachers would be vaccinated. He said the teachers will be informed of their schedules of vaccination via email after registration.
