Navy warship leaves Ctg to take part in IDEX, NAVDEX in UAE

Bangladesh Navy Warship BNS Prottoy left Chattogram naval base on Saturday for United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX-2021) and Navy Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX-2021).

A function was held on the occasion of the departure of the warship at the jetty. Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad, Commander Bangladesh Navy Fleet, attended the function as the chief guest and gave farewell reception. Senior naval officials and sailors were also present at the programme.

A total of 136 navy officers and sailors of the ship will take part in this exhibition under the command of Capt Ahmed Amin Abdullah.

High level representatives, observers, military experts, military personnel and naval ships from different countries of the world including Bangladesh will participate in this international sea exercise and exhibition.

After the exercise, the warship is expected to return home on March 13.
