13 more die, 485 cases detected

Thirteen more corona patients died and 485 new cases were detected in the country during the last 24 hours till Thursday morning. The death toll rose to 8,175.

The rate of daily coronavirus infection detection is declining and the recovery rate has been increasing day by day across the country.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 485 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am Sunday, raising the total number to 5,37,030.

Some 611 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,81,917. The DGHS data said the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.52 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate also has reached 89.74 percent, it added.

The health directorate said 14.48 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 3.18 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 15,372 samples, out of 15,273 collected, were tested at 206 labs in the country during the period, the report added.

A total of 37,08,907 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
