Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Wednesday fined Lamiya Super Mosquito Coil Tk 1,00,000 in the capital’s Chad uddan Housing area for using BSTI logo or monogram on its products without any license.
A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Nafisha Naz Nira conducted the drive and seized a loaded truck worth Tk 2,00,000, said a press release.
The company was engaged in selling, marketing and distributing of the coils titled ‘Lamiya Super, Lamiya Tulsipata, Lamiya Gold, Lamiya Zambo and Lamiya Amiya King’ utilising BSTI logo without BSTI’s permission. BSTI Prosecuting Officer ANM Farhad Hossain, Field Officer (CM) Md Khaled Hossain, and Field Officer (CM) Md Shikander Mahmud Khaled Hossain were present during the drive.
