Ibrahim Khaled in critical state

Noted banker and economist Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled, who has been undergoing treatment for corona infection in a city hospital, is in a critical condition.

He is undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital.

The former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank took admission in the hospital on Sunday.

Earlier on Monday, he was shifted to a cabin as his health conditions improved, but he was shifted again to ICU as his condition deteriorated on Tuesday.

Imran Chowdhury, director of the hospital, said, “Seventy percent of his lungs has been affected. His condition deteriorated on Tuesday. He has been given four bags of blood so far.”

Ibrahim Khaled’s son Sayed Ahmmed requested the countrymen to pray for his father’s quick recovery.

Ibrahim Khaled also served as the chairman and managing director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank and managing director of state-owned Sonali, Agrani and Pubali banks.
