‘Bangla Khayal Utsab’ today in memory of Azad Rahman

The 8th edition of ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Bangla Khayal Utsab-2021’ will be held today. Organised by Channel i, this year’s festival is dedicated to late music exponent Azad Rahman.

The music fiesta will begin at 05:20pm and will continue till tomorrow at 09:00am.

Channel i Director and Head of News Shykh Seraj announced the details of the fest at a press conference held at Channel i office in the capital’s Tejgaon area on Saturday.

Shykh Seraj said about the festival, “Channel i has been arranging the Khayal Utsab for the last seven years. This year’s arrangement is quite different from others. Many things have been changed due to the ongoing pandemic. Last year we have also lost the initiator of this festival Azad Rahman. We are dedicating the 8th ‘Bangla Khayal Utsab’ in remembrance of him.”   

Music exponents Karim Shahabuddin, Nashid Kamal, Selina Azad, Anil Kumar Saha were, among others present at the press conference. The programme will be telecast live on Channel i.

Channel i have been arranging the Khayal Utsab since 2014. It aims to spread classical music across the mass people.
