A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Wednesday that all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will need a scan if the swell in his groin is not healed on Wednesday.
Shakib received an injury scare ahead of the two-match Test series against West Indies as he sustained a groin injury during the third ODI against the visitors at Chattogram on Monday.
“He is now under a 48-hour observation and if the swell is not healed by tomorrow (Wednesday) he will need a scan,” BCB Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin told The Daily Sun.Shakib collapsed almost immediately in the follow-through after delivering the penultimate ball of his fifth over and was seen grimacing in a lot of pain that suggested he was having some trouble in the groin.
Bangladesh won the ODI series 3-0 after beating West Indies by 120 runs in Chattogram in the dead-rubber.
