Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Monday arranged a training session for nurses of different hospitals in the capital on how to manage side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 84 nurses from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka Medical College and Mugda Medical College and Hospital attended the training session at DSCC Nagar Bhaban.

Speaking on the occasion, DSCC Chief Health Officer Sharif Ahmed said that they arranged the training session to equip the nurses with the knowledge of side-effect management.

“All vaccines have some side-effects and it won’t affect all recipients. We have provided              training on what steps should be taken if someone experiences side effects,” he said.

He said rumours about the vaccine are circulating all over the country.

“Everyone has a responsibility to check rumors. We will conduct vaccination programme for the welfare of the people.

“DSCC has taken an elaborate programme in this regard. We will form team with trained health workers in our area. Besides, our doctors and nurses are experienced enough for the job.”
