Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said that the government would not make any interference in Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) polls.

“The government will not make any interference in the CCC polls and the people of Chattogram will cast votes as per their choices. The government will make all-out cooperation with the Election Commission (EC) to hold a free and fair election,” he said.

Quader, also the Awami League general secretary, said this while speaking at a virtual press briefing on contemporary issues from his official residence on parliament premises in the capital.

The minister came up with the remark as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) made an allegation that their candidates are being obstructed during the CCC polls campaign.
