President Md Abdul Hamid on Sunday appointed two additional attorney generals to move cases on behalf of the state before the Supreme Court.
The newly-appointed additional attorney generals are Supreme Court lawyers -Barrister Md Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury and Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Morshed.Law Minister Anisul Huq confirmed the matter to reporters.
The law minister expected that the newly- appointed additional attorney generals will serve the state by their professional competence, skill and expertise.
Two posts of additional attorney general were vacant for more than three months since the then additional attorney generals Murad Reza and Momtaz Uddin Fakir resigned on October 11, 2020.
Stating about their personal problems, both of them stepped down from their posts three days after the appointment of AM Amin Uddin as the new attorney general of the state.
Currently, there are the attorney general, one additional attorney general, 65 deputy attorney generals and 151 assistant attorney generals to move cases in support of the state before the apex court.
