Simmons optimistic to win the dead-rubber

West Indies head coach Phil Simmons said on Saturday that they will be eyeing to take 10 points from the dead-rubber against Bangladesh as they reached Chattogram for the series concluding last game, scheduled on Monday.

Bangladesh are strong favourites to make the series 3-0 after looking into the inexperience and off-coloured performance in the field of West Indies team but their head coach Simmons insisted they are yet not down totally.

“We came here for 30 points but we still have a chance to get 10 points in this competition. But most of all, (we need) just the improvement,” Simmons said upon his arrival at the port-city.

“We have got from 122 to 148 but we need to get into the 230-250 so that we can be competitive. Give the bowlers something to bowl at and show mettle in that aspect. But definitely ten points would be the ultimate,” he added.
