22 more die, 436 cases detected

Twenty-two more corona patients died and 436 cases were detected in the country during the last 24 hours till Saturday morning. The death toll rose to 8,003 in the country.

The total death rate of the coronavirus infection has risen to 1.51 percent in the country while the rate of daily new infection cases has been declined to 3.92 percent in the country. 

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 436 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Saturday, raising the total number to 5,31,326.

Some 338 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,75,899.

The DGHS data said the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.51 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate also has reached 89.57 percent, it added.

The health directorate said 15.00 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 3.92 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 11,007 samples, out of 11,115 collected, were tested at 200 labs in the country during the period, the report added.

A total of 35,41,389 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
