Chairman of Bangla-desh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) Professor Salim Uddin has urged the youth to involve themselves in social activities in line with the government’s measures to alleviate poverty from Bangladesh.
The BHBFC Chief made the call while presenting a keynote papers at a virtual conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) organised by SDG Youth Forum (SYF), said a press release on Wednesday.In his presentation, Professor Salim Uddin also focused on prospects and challenges in the socio-economic situation of the country.
“As a result, proper implementation of the steps taken by the government to address the challenge of poverty alleviation is the first goal of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
The eminent economist also said an integrated action plan should be taken to build a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Professor Salim Uddin, also a faculty member of Chittagong University, is leading “Islami Bank Bangladesh” as chairman of executive committee.
SDG Youth Forum President Noman Ullah Bahar presided over the meeting.
East Delta University Vice-Chancellor Professor Sikander Khan, Chittagong Port Authority member Zafar Alam, economist Mohammed Shahjahan Siddiqi, Bangladesh Upazila Parishad Association President Harun Aur Rashid Hawladar, Obat Helpers founder Anwar Khan, SDG Youth Forum office secretary Minhazur Rahman Shihab, and Dhaka Team coordinator Farhana Bari also connected.
