Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said on Friday that the two British passport holder foreign coaches, Ottis Gibson and Jon Lewis will join the preparation camp today.

Both the coaches, who arrived in Dhaka from the United Kingdom, were forbidden to take part in the ongoing preparation camp of Tigers that began on January 10 with the other members of the team management.

According to the latest government rules, passengers arriving from the UK must be institutionally quarantined for 14 days as a measure to contain the spread of the new variant of coronavirus.

However, the rule was changed and that paved way for the due as passengers arriving from the United Kingdom will need four-day quarantine now.

The duo, batting consultant Lewis and bowling coach Gibson - received negative corona reports by Tuesday but that was not enough for them to join the national team until the new rule paved their way to be part of the management set-up from now onwards.

BCB officials said that they have received clearance from the authorities of the government regarding these two coaches.

Lewis arrived on January 7 while Gibson arrived a day later.
