Father, son killed in Khulna, youth in Savar

At least three people were killed in separate road accidents in Khulna and Savar on Friday.

In Khulna, a man and his son were killed when a truck hit their motorcycle in Zero Point area on Khulna-Satkhira highway in the morning.  The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Quoting eyewitnesses, Horintana Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Enamul Huq said a truck heading to Satkhira from Khulna hit the motorcycle from behind in Zero Point area on Khulna-Satkhira highway, leaving the duo killed on the spot.  The truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle.

In Savar, a youth was killed in a road accident in Nabinagar area on Dhaka-Aricha highway. The deceased was identified as Riazul Islam, 24, son of Mozammel Haque, hailed from Nasopa village of Ghatail upazila in Tangail.

Police said a speedy bus hit Riazul while he was taking tea at a roadside tea stall in the area.

Rafiqul Islam, sub-inspector of Savar Highway Police Outpost, said on receiving information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
