Bangladesh to participate in ‘Miss Universe’ for 2nd time

After the successful debut in Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in 2019, Bangladesh is all set to participate in the world beauty pageant for the second time.

The 69th Miss Universe Beauty Pageant will be held in the USA in May 2021. 

The preparation for the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant began through the announcement of Miss Universe Bangladesh contest 2020 at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Monday. 

Miss Universe Bangladesh President Rafiqul Islam Duke disclosed the details about the Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020, including, format, application, audition, selection procedure and the schedule of events in the press conference.

Rafiqul Islam Duke said, “Miss Universe Bangladesh will feature some of the most beautiful, intelligent, elegant, talented and confident women of our country. This will be the platform where confident Bangladeshi women will face the challenge of the world and serve humanity through various social works. The violence against women is a burning issue in our country and through this initiative it will be addressed all across the country to increase awareness against this violence.”

“It is a great pride that for the second time someone from Bangladesh will participate in Miss Universe 2020,” he added.

Miss Universe Bangladesh website will open for applicants till January 25. Registration will start from January 13 and will continue till January 25. The application fee for participants is BDT 1000. The selection rounds and grooming sessions will be carried out throughout the whole Miss Universe Bangladesh period. The grand finale of Miss Universe Bangladesh will be held next March after selection and grooming through auditions. The winner of the Bangladesh episode will take part in the main event in the United States next May. Any Bangladeshi Unmarried women between the ages of 17 to 28 will be able to participate in the competition.

Universe Bangladesh’s National Director Shafiqul Islam, RTV CEO Syed Ashik Rahman, Adcomm Ltd. Managing Director and Northbrook Consultantant Nazim Farhan Chowdhury, Miss Universe Bangladesh 2019 Shirin Akter Shila, among others, were present on the occasion.  

The title sponsor of Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 is Flora Bank, Associate Partner RTV, PR Partner Northbrook Consultants Ltd and makeover partner is Persona.
