There are introduced automated water booths in living territories of apparel workers to provide access to clean water to mass.
So far, the project has launched 3 water booths in Dhaka, Gazipur and Chattogram till December 24 last year. Two booths have the facility of an ATM card that can be used to purchase and pay for their water, said a news release.All three of the water booths can produce around 1,000 litres of water per hour. Therefore, each booth can produce 8,000 liters of water daily. Shujola- Promoting Water Entrepreneurs and Digital Financing Mechanism in Bangladesh is a project funded by the JTI Foundation and being implemented by Swisscontact Bangladesh. Each water booth can serve around 4 thousand RMG workers or customers each on a regular working day.
