Khandaker Aliour Rahman, secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), died from Covid-19 in a hospital in the capital on Monday.
He was undergoing treatment in Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.Earlier on November 18, Aliour had posted on his social media account that he tested positive for Covid-19.
Initially he received treatment in Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital for 22 days since he was infected with the virus.
A week after his release, he was admitted to the hospital again. His lungs were severely damaged by the deadly virus. He was on life support in the last few days.
It may be mentioned that the BRTA secretary joined BRTA last year.
