Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) declared 41-member convening committee of its Narayanganj district unit on Friday.
Taimur Alam Khandaker, adviser of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, was made the convener and Mamun Mahmud, the last general secretary of the committee, was made the member secretary, said a press release.Taimur was also the general secretary and president of the district BNP while Mamun led the district unit Juba Dal for many years.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi handed over the paper of the committee to Taimur. The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved the committee on December 31.
The seven joint-conveners are Monirul Islam Robi, Nasir Uddin, Abdul Hai Raju, Lutfar Rahman Abdu, Mahfuzur Rahman Humayun, Zahid Hasan Rozel, and Nazrul Islam Panna Mollah.
