5 start-ups win awards in int’l hackathon

Five Bangladeshi start-ups have scooped up awards in an international hackathon titled ideaTHON, a technology-based competition.

The five start-ups are Chobir Baksho, Krishian, Char Chokka, ANTT Robotics and Rokkhi Limited.

The award giving ceremony was held at ICT Division in the capital on Thursday.

ICT Division of Bangladesh, Korea Productivity Center (KPC) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) jointly organised the contest.

The winning teams will receive six-month training and incubation in South Korea and will also be given opportunity for having connection with international investors.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest at the programme while Korean Ambassador Lee Jang-keun was present as the guest of honour.

ICT Division Senior Secretary Zeaul Alam, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Parthapratim Deb, Korea Productivity Center Director Sanggon Park, Basis President  Syed Almas Kabir and Startup Bangladesh Managing Director Tina Jabeen, among others, attended the event chaired by Additional Secretary Syed Mojibul Huq.
