The High Court on Tuesday asked the wife and daughter of Lakshmipur-2 constituency lawmaker Mohammad Shahid Islam Papul to surrender before the lower court by December 28 in a money laundering case.

The online vacation bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohel rescheduled the deadline of Papul’s wife Selina Islam, a reserved-seat lawmaker, and their daughter Kazi Wafa Islam, responding to their joint plea.

Earlier on December 10, 2020, the same bench asked Selina and her daughter to surrender before the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court within 10 days.

On November 11, the ACC filed the case against Papul, his wife, daughter and sister-in-law for laundering Tk 148 crore.
