BARI gets two new directors

The Ministry of Agriculture on Sunday appointed two new directors for Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute’s (BARI) two (Support & Services and Tuber Crops) departments, said a press release.

Renowned agricultural scientist Dr S M Sharifuzzaman who served as Director (Tuber Crops) of BARI has been appointed as the new Director of Support & Services.

On 11 January 1989, he joined BARI as a scientific officer. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of Senior Scientific Officer, Principal Scientific Officer and Chief Scientific Officer. On the other hand, the Ministry has named Dr Kabita Anju-Man-Ara as the replacement for Dr S M Sharifuzzaman.

Earlier, Dr Kabita Anju-Man-Ara worked as the chief scientific officer of BARI’s Tuber Crop Research Center and Floriculture Division.
