Another 250-kg bomb was found at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal construction site in the capital on Saturday.
The bomb is believed to have been dropped during the Liberation War in 1971.The cylinder-shaped bomb was found underground while the construction workers were doing piling work at the site, according to a press release of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
On information, a bomb disposal team of Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu rushed to the spot with modern equipment and defused the bomb, said the press release.
Later, the bomb was taken to a safe place with the necessary precautions for demolition.
The bomb experts believed the bomb to have been dropped during the Liberation War in 1971.
Earlier, construction workers found same two bombs at the same construction site on December 9 and December 14.
