Joy of Reading Books

'I have no fear to be lost.' The poet's desire to be lost in his mind requires a very imaginative mind. And the most effective means of awakening this imagination of the mind is the book. However, this book is not a tight-knit textbook of the syllabus, but the ocean of knowledge outside the textbook that is calling for continuous human civilization to plunge into the abyss of the ocean of knowledge, this is that invaluable gem. The feeling of life and the joy of life can never leave him who has found this treasure and tasted it to the fullest.

The tendency to know the unknown, to unravel the mystery, to discover something new is inherent in human beings. From the beginning of creation until now, all the people who have come to earth have walked on the chest of this planet with natural curiosity. It is this curiosity of the people that has immersed him in the pursuit of knowledge. Man has questioned the environment around him, nature, society, the state, trying to find the answer to that question. Sometimes he got the answer to the question, sometimes never got it. The answers to these questions, the conjectures, the advent of new questions, the pros and cons of the answers, the arguments, the debates have created a ladder of knowledge for mankind, and from that ladder came the emergence of modern and advanced human society; this creature named man has conquered the world by his hand. Over the years, human beings tried to preserve what man has wanted, the richness of human questioning, experience, and sense of life that has gradually developed, to leave his legacy as a way of life. The book was born out of this desire to spread one's knowledge from generation to generation. Books are not just an orderly arrangement of some words wrapped inside the cover, books are a symbol of the triumph of human civilization, books are an excellent vehicle to reach the ages. The vast collection of knowledge that we see in front of our eyes is a latent history of mankind's long journey of thousands of years, even though it may seem contemporary on the surface. So, when a man picks up a book, a wide door of world civilization is opened in front of him. Whoever knows how to enter through this door, everything in the world will seem insignificant to him.

Most of the time we think of literature as extra-curricular books. It is true that literature spreads the minds and thoughts of the people; however, the realm of knowledge is greater than this, the treasure of books is also a few thousand times greater than the scope of literature. So, not only literature, but also history, tradition, culture, religion, philosophy, politics, economics, law, etc also create a vast scope of knowledge. There are millions of books in the world. That's why readers have a great opportunity to find their favourite books on the subjects. Again, books are not the only source of biblical knowledge. Excellent quality books know how to awaken the human soul. As a result, there is a noticeable change in the human psyche. There is no substitute for a good quality book to enhance a person's thinking ability and analytical skills. That is why reading a book should not be mistaken for merely uttering a few sentences, but its underlying purpose should also be brought to the fore. Compared to many countries in the world, the rate of reading books in our country is lower. One of the main reasons for this is that the exact purpose of the book reading is not presented to us. From an early age, we used to know books as a means of passing exams. It is this meditation that leads people to fall; so, we have to come out of such thinking. Otherwise, the instability that exists in our society and state will become more and more evident day by day. It is not very easy to change the narrow-mindedness, superstition and inferiority complex of the people in the society. This is a complex and time consuming process. If we want to uproot the mediocre mentality that is going on in the society, we need to go deeper and reform it. It requires healthy thinking people. And what is most needed to build such a people is the foundation of a better mentality, the book is largely effective in building that foundation. Reading books has to be transformed into a social movement to meet the needs of the overall mentality of the society. This is what Abdullah Abu Sayeed Sir and his World Literature Center are doing. Enlightened people are needed for the betterment of the society, in the light of which ten more people will be enlightened, the society will be ignited. That is why the main slogan of the World Literary Center is 'I want enlightened people'. We need to declare our solidarity with the work that the World Literary Center is doing to bring about a positive change in society. We will enjoy the benefits of reading books if we can spread them widely in all walks of life. So not only do you have to read the book yourself, you also have to encourage the people around you to read the book.

It is said that man's best friend is the book, which never leaves him. Books are also a leisure companion for people. When people dive into the pages of a book at the end of a tiring day, a completely different serenity prevails. There is no other way to use leisure effectively than to read a book. Books nourish the mind, move the consciousness. Many spend their leisure time by reading books, while others suffer from depression for a variety of reasons. Books can also be a great way for them to keep their minds healthy. There is no alternative to reading books even if you want to be a writer. To be a good writer, you must read a lot of books regularly. The book enriches the author's vocabulary, inspires new ideas, which helps him to write. Most of the world's famous writers were bookworms. They spent most of the day reading books, which enabled them to give all the priceless books to the people of the world. So, if you want to be a writer, you have to be a reader first, you have to read a lot of books.

As I have said before, there is no alternative to reading books to rebuild the society. Reading books is very important for building a healthy nation. If the habit of reading books can be spread at the grassroots level, then the crime rate of the society will come down to some extent. In order to run this country of our huge population properly, we need selfless, charismatic, well-developed people. Books can bring us such people. So, reading a book is not a burden, but a joy. Let the joy of reading books spread among all, let the country be filled with readers.
